iChing Review
Application software download free Android: iChing is a simple and intuitive interface to centuries-old wisdom. iChing embodies the essentials of the Chinese oracle: 64 hexagrams describing the forces at work in any situation, each made up of six lines symbolising yin and yang, changing or unchanging, in a hierarchy of progression and enlightenment.
With a clean, no-nonsense design and poetic original interpretations iChing is an app both highly accessible to new users and a revelation for those long familiar with the book of changes.
A hexagram is built by clicking virtual coins in the app six times. The hexagram is then interpreted according to the classical I Ching method which uses yarrow stalks or coins. The app's engine emulates precisely the ancient yarrow-stalk method, with a series of counts and divisions to determine how likely it is that you have cast a changing yin or yang line. If you prefer using your own yarrow stalks or coins the app has a manual hexagram builder that works in a similar way.
If you have an Apple Watch you can use it to quickly consult the iChing by pushing the Yin Yang button on your wrist. A full reading including changing lines texts and the transformed hexagram are then displayed on your device. You can also share the reading via handoff with Safari on any other Apple device within range. The lite version includes the core I Ching consulting tool and full odd-numbered passages, with additional content available through in-app purchase.
